Designed for workboats, patrol vessels, pilot boats, passenger vessels, coastal commercial fishing boats, offshore support vessels, and a wide range of professional marine operations, the HS65 delivers the accurate heading data critical to today’s connected bridge systems.
At the core of the HS65 is high-precision multi-constellation GNSS support, delivering under 2° RMS heading accuracy alongside highly accurate vessel positioning. Unlike traditional magnetic compasses, the GNSS-based system is designed to minimize the effects of magnetic interference commonly found onboard commercial vessels, helping maintain stable and dependable heading data across connected bridge electronics.
For OEM builders, installers, and fleet operators, the HS65 simplifies installation by combining a compass and GNSS receiver into a single compact unit with flexible mounting options and improved cable routing. With NMEA 2000® connectivity, it integrates seamlessly into Simrad® bridge systems, supporting radar overlay, autopilot control, AIS, chart alignment, and overall vessel awareness.
More than just a heading sensor, the HS65 strengthens the complete Simrad® navigation ecosystem for light non-IMO commercial vessels. By delivering stable, reliable heading data across connected onboard systems, it helps improve navigation precision, operational awareness, and confidence in demanding professional environments.
The Simrad® HS65™ GNSS Compass is available now.
The HS65 also features a dual-layer backup system designed to maintain reliable heading data during temporary satellite signal interruptions. Integrated Dead Reckoning technology maintains heading information for up to three minutes before automatically switching to magnetic backup if required, helping operators maintain confidence and awareness in challenging operating environments such as ports, bridges, inland waterways, or high-latitude regions.
