The Simrad brand had a large presence at the Seawork International and displayed the latest commercial products, including the award winning Halo Radar, X and S band radars, Maris Marine Bridge Assistant (MBA) and complete range of Simrad and Maris ECDIS.
Seawork International is one of Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition and regarded as the industry’s one-stop-shop for buyers, legislators and influencers, giving them access to the commercial marine and workboat market. This year, the show was located at Mayflower Park adjacent Southampton’s commercial docks, home of some of the largest container and passenger ships in the world.
The Simrad brand had large presence in the exhibition hall and on the water. The stand displayed the latest commercial products, including the award winning Halo Radar, X and S band radars, Maris Marine Bridge Assistant (MBA) and complete range of Simrad and Maris ECDIS.
In addition, the show saw the world wide launch of the new Simrad M5027 marine 27’ monitor designed to meet the colour calibration requirements of ECDIS systems and the size requirements of 320mm CAT1 radar systems. “With our central location and full line up of commercial solutions the stand was very busy.” said John Guercio Sales Direct of Simrad’s Commercial marine Division, adding, “We saw particularly strong interest in our ECDIS and radar solutions.”
On the water, the Simrad navigation equipment was present on a large range of vessels from the 46ft Humber Sounder survey vessel to the 38ft military spec rib from Goldfish Boats.
Cheetah Catamarans designer, Sean Strevens, explained the reasons behind his electronic navigation choices and how they impacted commercial vessel design.
Seawork is one of the many exhibitions that Simrad brand’s commercial side of the business attends throughout the year with the next major European show being SMM in Hamburg during September www.smm-hamburg.com/en/.
